The Ecumenical Stewardship Center is a large Christian-based network organized for the purpose of growing stewards for congregations. Its primary focus is to grow and equip Christian leaders using a theology of God’s generosity and Christian response. The Center has historical roots in the National Council of Churches and the Christian Church, US. It services congregations in the United States and Canada. The current Executive Director/CEO is Marcia Shetler, a Church of the Brethren executive. The Center provides many resources, including Giving Magazine, printed stewardship materials, educational events, blogs and books, which are available on the website. A unique feature is “Forum Groups”, which meet at least annually to keep current on the latest trends, resources and emerging leaders in stewardship education. Congregational leaders may join these forums by registering on the website. Another major event is the hosting of a major North American Conference on Christian Philanthropy. This Conference is held annually at a major church site. Information and registration is available on the website.
