Strengthening Congregations: Paving the Road to Meaningful Young Adult Engagement

web resource
Union for Reform Judaism. Accessed April 19, 2017.

This report from the 2013-2014 Union of Reform Judaism Young Adult Engagement Community of Practice is an interactive resource with numerous action steps and resource links to enable a congregation to work through the process utilized by seven synagogues in the original Active Learning Network (ALN). The 40-page online resource summarizes the findings of the ALN in an overview and discussion of Best Practices. The resource also includes the syllabus and workbook used by that original group so that any congregation can apply the same process in their own setting. In place of the live learning events of the original course, there are links to blogs, webinar recordings, etc. This is a self-directed study with useful information for those looking for an overview, as well as a step-by-step process for those wanting to engage in depth. This resource is specifically created by and for Jewish congregations, though it has sections that will be useful to any congregation seeking to engage young adults.
