The Journal of Family and Community Ministries (JFCM) is an online journal jointly sponsored by Baylor University School of Social Work and the George W. Truett Theological Seminary. Its sponsors describe the journal as “an online, peer-reviewed journal that provides researched based articles to congregational and ministry leaders as they seek to serve others locally and globally.” Thirteen broad-ranging topics are currently listed, covering issues such as adult ministries, children’s ministries, congregational assessment, global ministries, marriage, mental health, grief and mourning, physical health and wellness, multicultural congregations, and more. Articles may be submitted to the journal for peer review and inclusion in upcoming issues. The website contains a very helpful summary of current articles and an easy search feature connecting to past ones. The journal is a free web resource that is available via online subscription. Congregational leaders who would like a comprehensive, high quality publication that includes work on the interface between social work and ministry would find this journal very helpful.
