Congregational Resource Guide
Finding the right resources for your congregation
An analysis of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) can be helpful in evaluating the strategic effectiveness of existing church programs. This process should be used in conjunction with brainstorming new and alternate church programs during the strategic planning process. It may also be used as a tool for tracking action plans and evaluating programs on an ongoing basis. This short, practical tool describes a four-step process to help program teams rate the overall effectiveness of a program and recommend to the planning team whether a program should continue as it is, be improved, or be stopped. The templates can be easily-adapted to evaluate strategic ministry clusters (such as mission or stewardship), specific programs, or even the effectiveness of ministry implementation teams. Biblical Ministries Worldwide’s purpose is to establish reproducing churches that share Baptist distinctives through evangelism, discipleship and leadership development. It is affiliated with the Fellowship of Missions, a forum for idea-sharing among mission organizations.
