Established in 1974 by Warren UMC in Denver, Colorado, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and local business leaders, Warren Village offers subsidized housing in 93 apartments next door to the church. Residents are invited to be part of the congregation. Funding sources include businesses, congregations and individuals in the local community, earned income through fees and foundation and agency grants.
Available childcare, on-site counseling and partnering with other social services are all critical from the beginning of this type of ministry. Warren Village offers consulting services to help others adapt and replicate the Warren Village experience.
