Young Children and Worship

book
by Sonja M. Stewart, Jerome W. Berryman. Westminster John Knox Press, 1988.

This classic introduces a Montessori-style curriculum for children that today is used in congregations across the US and Canada. Known under a variety of names including Godly Play, Good Shepherd, Children and Worship, and Children Worship and Wonder, the program connects children’s capacity for wonder and spiritual engagement with Scripture’s capacity to communicate mystery and meaning on multiple levels. The authors have established separate entities that provide training, curriculum, story materials and enrichment pages for use at home. Berryman’s Godly Play resources are available in print and digital format at {{Church Publishing.org | https://www.churchpublishing.org/}}.
