Large blessed are the crazy

Congregational leaders, counselors, individuals with mental illness, and those close to someone with mental illness, will find the Rev. Dr. Lund’s faith-and-life testimony sobering and encouraging. Her story includes her father’s untreated mental illness and the resulting abuse and violence, and her brother’s debilitating struggle with bipolar disorder. She also shares her experience as spiritual advisor for her cousin, a mentally ill man executed for murder. The book includes a small group study guide and a planning guide titled, “Ten Steps for Developing a Mental Health Ministry in Your Congregation.” Lund, who has an M.Div., MSW, and D.Min., is vice president for seminary advancement at Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis. Ordained in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), she served large and small congregations in New York, Minnesota, and Florida. The book is part of the {{Young Clergy Women Project |}} series.
