Nine Keys to Effective Small Group Leadership

by Carl F. George. CDLM, 2013.

Carl George, through his experience as a pastor and Church Growth Institute director, has aided numerous congregations in improving small group ministry. George’s stated objective in this work is to “[help] small groups produce both new believers and new leaders.” He maintains that in order to do this, small groups must aid in making a congregation the kind of place where deep transformation happens. This book is intended to be practical training to deepen understanding of why small groups are important, as well as providing nine practical keys to starting, executing and maintaining healthy small groups. The keys include subjects like recruiting leaders, inviting newcomers to the group, preparation for meetings, group worship, serving the group and others, and more. This resource will be helpful to small group or congregational leaders seeking to provide deeper community, invite others to faith in Christ, and reproduce new leaders.
