The North American Association for the Catechumenate

(206) 300-1947.

The North American Association for the Catechumenate (NAAC) is an ecumenical organization that “seeks to promote and nurture the catechumenal process in order that the whole faith community might fulfill Christ’s commission to make disciples, baptizing and teaching all peoples.” This educational process teaches the fundamentals of Christianity. NAAC supports the process by offering a free e-newsletter, sponsoring an annual conference, and providing resources on different aspects of the catechumenal process. Worship, history, and baptism are three of the eight categories of resources offered. The resources are in the form of articles, videos, and links to articles and organizations. Specific topics include discipleship and “Imaginative Biblical Interpretation.” Some resources are leader guides; several others discuss the needs of children, youth, and their leaders. Four levels of membership are available. Lay leaders, clergy, and judicatories interested in strengthening their catechumenal process will find numerous helps and hints here.
