Which congregational factors support a vibrant faith community? In this study, leaders across 10 faith traditions define spiritual vitality, reveal which factors help or hurt congregational vitality, and then offer strategies to improve vitality. The report shows that spiritual vitality as a journey. With this document, leadership teams will find encouragement for sustaining spiritual vitality and pragmatic advice. A diagram also illustrates the link between spiritual engagement and increased community involvement. The Evangelical Lutheran Church of America funded this research through the Congregational Vitality Project. This report focuses on spiritual vitality rather than practical congregational administration.
