Connect2Help, formerly United Way's Information & Referral Network facilitates connections between people who need human services and those who provide them. Connect2Help publishes an annual resource, The Rainbow Book, available in print and electronic version, that lists available service agencies in the following areas: Basic Needs; Education; Employment/Income Sources; Environment/Public Health; Health; Individual and Family Services; Legal/Law Enforcement; and Mental Health/Substance Abuse.

A comprehensive online database of social services is maintained and a 24-hour helpline is offered -- HELPLINE 2-1-1, or 317-926-4357 or just 211.

MISSION - Connect2Help™ facilitates connections between people who need human services and those who provide them.

SUMMARY - Connect2Help™ is a nonprofit agency governed by a volunteer board of directors. Connect2Help™ is dedicated to facilitating connections between people who need human services and those who provide them. Major funding is provided by United Way of Central Indiana (UWCI).

Connect2Help™ is accredited by the Alliance of Information & Referral Systems and has received certification from the American Association of Suicidology.

EXPERIENCE – Connect2Help™ became an independent 501(c)(3) corporation in 1987. Up until that time, for more than 40 years, the services of Connect2Help™ were provided by the Community Service Council, a division of UWCI.

Connect2Help™ achieved “2-1-1 Center” designation for Connect2Help™ 2-1-1 in 2004 by meeting requirements of the Indiana 211 Partnership, Inc. The Partnership was given authority for exclusive use of the 2-1-1 dialing code in the state by the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission.

Connect2Help™ 2-1-1 is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by highly trained I&R Specialists. Services are available in English and Spanish.

Connect2Help™ also publishes The Rainbow BooK™, a directory of thousands of community health and human services programs available to persons in central Indiana. The directory has its origins in a small booklet that was first distributed over 80 years ago by the Community Council on Social Agencies.

As an added service to the community, Connect2Help™ collects data and publishes information on needs, resources and gaps in services to inform community funders and planners.
