Elim Transitional Housing, Inc.

Minneapolis. (736) 788-1546.

Elim Transitional Housing began in 1983 through Elim Baptist Church in Minneapolis, MN, with Philips' personal financial backing and grants from Hennepin County. Elim now has 100 housing units in three counties over a 1200 square mile area. The staff and volunteers work to prevent homelessness and to enable participants to settle into a community, as well as a community of faith. Elim stresses the importance of directly involving people who have experienced homelessness in the administration and staffing of the organization. Current funding sources include federal, state and county grants and contributions from corporations, foundations, businesses, faith-based communities and individuals.
