Congregational Resource Guide
Finding the right resources for your congregation
Glenmary Home Missioners is a society of Catholic priests and lay brothers who are dedicated to serving both the spiritual and material needs of individuals in rural areas. In over 60 missions throughout Appalachia, the South, and the Southwest United States they seek to establish a church presence, as well as work for economic development and social justice. These areas are less than one percent Catholic and the poverty level is twice the national average. Glenmary brothers are lay men who make a life commitment to serve through parish ministry, health care, social work, or building trades. Their web site offers an explanation of their current ministries and access to their research center which has books and maps relevant to their ministry. In addition, the web site offers discernment advice for any who may want to explore a call to be a Glenmary Home Missioner.
