Group Publishing , 2013.

Moving Forward is one in a three-book series from Group Publishing about volunteers and working with volunteers. The focus of this volume is on helping leaders recruit and train volunteers. It includes finding the most appropriate volunteers for the task at hand and helping volunteers build a foundation for ministry. The eleven chapters cover identifying, recruiting, interviewing, training, and evaluating volunteers, as well as how to promote volunteerism. The material on interviewing volunteers includes how to gather a team of interviewers and how to interview potential volunteers. Five chapters address the volunteer training process, such as how to create training sessions and tips for trainers. Group offers ideas for what to include in a volunteer handbook, and sample forms and letters that cover recruitment to training. The two other books in the Volunteer Leadership series are titled {{Jump Start | https://www.group.com/product/9781470706753-jump-start-pdf-download.do?}} and {{Go the Distance | https://www.group.com/product/9781470706791-go-the-distance-pdf-download.do?}}. All three books in the series are appropriate for Christian pastors, lay-leaders, and those who work with volunteers. They are available as pdf downloads.
