The National Association of Temple Administrators (NATA) fosters Reform Judaism, provides educational opportunities in effective temple administration, and distributes administrative and procedural information and suggestions to NATA members and to the member congregations of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations. One of its educational features is the Fellow in Temple Administration Certification, a credential for temple administrators that signifies professional competence and a commitment to improved professional performance. Another feature is NATA's sponsorship of coursework towards the Master's degree in Jewish Communal Service, (with a concentration in Synagogue Management), offered by the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Los Angeles. NATA also provides consulting and placement services, and publishes the semi-annual 'NATA Journal,' which focuses on the business of synagogue management.
