Project Jubilee [North Carolina Council of Churches]

Raleigh. (919) 828-6501.

Through the North Carolina Council of Churches, Project Jubilee educates and organizes churches in North Carolina about welfare reform, how the changes affect families, and what can be done to help these families in crisis. Project Jubilee also works with religious organizations to effect more just public policies. One pilot program in Wilson County, 'Families First', matches faith teams in congregations with families losing welfare benefits.
Jubilee staff members are available for conferences, workshops and individual consultation. Partial funding for PJ is provided by the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation.
