The Interfaith Health Program

Atllanta, GA. (404) 727-5246.

The Interfaith Health Program (IHP) builds collaborations between and among faith communities, religious health systems, and public health agencies around the issues of illness prevention, health promotion, and justice. Two of the IHP’s best resources for congregations developing health ministries are on its web site. First, there is a searchable database of congregational and community health initiatives on such topics as aging, AIDS, caregiving, community development, parish nursing, substance abuse, violence prevention, and women’s health. Second, there is a set of links to other community health resources, including the Center for Disease Control’s Fact Sheets, the National Library of Medicine’s web site, and the Minority Health Network. The Interfaith Health Program publishes 'Faith and Health,' which contains a resource section and many articles on health ministries.
