Webinar. Sharon Ellis Davis. FaithTrust, October 23, 2013. Accessed April 19, 2017.

While sexual abuse in congregations, often labeled clergy misconduct, is common in all faith traditions this Webinar addresses the topic in the context of the Black Church. Pastor, Police Officer/Chaplain, Professor Sharon Ellis David and Pastor/Teacher K. Ray Hill discuss the history of power and privilege in Black pulpits and the impact of racism on responses to clergy abuse. This is one of many resources produced by FaithTrust Institute, founded by United Church of Christ pastor Rev. Dr. Marie M. Fortune, to help the church talk about sexual abuse and to help sexual abuse programs talk about religion. For over three decades, FaithTrust Institute has offered online and in-person consulting and training for congregations, denominations, organizations, and seminaries on topics of child abuse, domestic violence, healthy boundaries, teen relationships, and sexual violence. This Webinar touches on topics common to many ethnic communities including Anglo, Asian, Black, and Latino/a as well as various faith traditions.
