Churches Promoting Recovery

Churches Promoting Recovery, NC

Description

This list of resources is the result of a study conducted in congregations of various denominations across North Carolina regarding their needs when addressing substance abuse issues. In partnership with the Duke University School of Medicine Department of Population Health Sciences, the Duke Divinity School's Theology, Medicine, and Culture and Clergy Health Initiative programs, the Ormond Center, and The Duke Endowment, the project collected and has published resources in English and Spanish that congregations anywhere can use when creating or updating their addiction recovery services for congregants or the wider community. Congregations can review a free toolkit for overdose prevention and recovery support, SAMHSA information guides, and more and can use the research results from North Carolina as a framework for establishing or improving their own prevention and recovery programs.
