In her role as a regional Episcopal leader, author Elizabeth Geitz watched some congregations have a positive experience when calling new clergy leadership while others experienced negativity and disorder. Not surprisingly, Geitz wants all congregations to have a positive experience and offers a spiritual and practical process to help congregations accomplish that. The book’s four parts address the search process from preparation to offering the call. Geitz includes agenda items for discussion and reflection for eight committee meetings, as well as reflection questions and spiritual practices throughout. A unique feature is the two-hour anti-racism workshop for small or large groups. Nineteen additional resources are available online at {{Church |}}. Topics include creating profiles, materials for the new rector/vicar, and hand-outs for the anti-racism workshop. Geitz’s work has a Christian, Episcopal perspective, but many items are appropriate for other Christian traditions, including the anti-racism workshop.
