Luther Seminary’s extensive online database of stewardship resources includes articles, reviews of books and films, bible studies, and resources for worship, including sermons. Robust theological resources are provided by the faculty of the seminary in the “Living in Abundance” series, made up of “lessons on living generously” based on particular passages of scripture or doctrine. These lessons are wide-ranging, and approach stewardship holistically. Topics include the stewardship of church music, lessons on generosity for children, a consideration of the Apostle’s Creed, and a short series on Sabbath as a practice of stewardship. Any of these might easily be integrated into a small group study within a congregation, or used as preparation by a stewardship committee for an annual campaign. These resources are more theological than “how-to”, which is not to say that they aren’t practical. Each lesson includes questions for discussion and many also have prayers, hymns, or other resources recommended.
