The Church Assessment Tool (CAT), created by {{Holy Cow Consulting |}}, helps those seeking accurate data in preparation for one or more of the following: pastoral search, strategic planning, a financial campaign and pastor start up. This tool is one of only a handful of congregational assessment tools that uses benchmarks for its data (see also, for instance, the TCInsight tool). Benchmark means that the inquiring congregation’s data is compared to that of other congregations. One unique measurement provided in this tool is a comparison of satisfaction in relationship to energy used. A congregation may be satisfied with a program, but perhaps the relational and emotional cost is too high. Use of this tool will help congregational leaders to identify the programs that bring high satisfaction, as well as high energy. Both are important. CAT has been used with many different kinds of congregations, large and small, mainline and evangelical. This tool is customizable. In addition to the tool itself, congregations may contract with Holy Cow Consulting for assistance with interpretation regarding the results.
