Reach Hurting Kids Institute

Description

This organization helps congregations offer effective care for young people who experience traumatic events and struggle with mental health issues. Led by a team of trauma-informed children’s ministry experts, Reach Hurting Kids Institute believes congregations can provide supportive communities that help children heal and grow in their faith.

To help congregations develop the skills they need to support children affected by trauma, Reach Hurting Kids Institute offers affordable training through a book and a workshop. The book, Trauma-Informed Children’s Ministry, provides theory and background to help congregational leaders recognize trauma in children and practical applications for supporting children through play, worship, small groups, and more. The workshop includes four 75-minute modules that help congregational leaders learn how to deescalate difficult behaviors and create small groups that provide affirming safe spaces for all children.
