Center for Transforming Communities

Memphis, TN. (901) 324-3005.

Congregations looking for inspiration regarding their potential impact on communities will find it here. The Center for Transforming Communities (CTC) is a success story. Their mission is to engage, equip, and mobilize individuals, organizations, and congregations, enabling them to do holistic change in their neighborhoods. CTC uses the model, Communities of Shalom. This is a faith-inspired community change model that brings together people that live, work, and worship in a community to build relationships, social networks, and to foster the well-being of neighbors. CTC trains groups in a variety of relationship building, community building, and community development strategies. They inspire organizations to envision a better reality through education, exposure, and experience. CTC connects organizations to tools, resources, and expertise through collaborative networks. The CTC website provides videos showing outcomes of their training and facilitation programs. Although CTC is based in Memphis, they partner with the National Shalom Resource Center at Drew University. Congregational leaders looking for training in this method can contact CTC.
