Some subjects are too uncomfortable for congregations and individuals to discuss because they are “close to home.” The Mennonite Publishing Network in partnership with the Mennonite Church and Mennonite Brethren ministries and institutions has published an extensive series of pamphlets on such subjects. Included in the series are pamphlets on dealing with dementia, PTSD, self-harm, gambling, bipolar disorder, overwhelming debt, acquaintance rape, spouse abuse, eating disorders, electronic addiction, pornography, elder abuse, etc. Each pamphlet consists of 12 pages with five parts - a true story, introduction to the issues based on best information available, an exploration of how the Bible and Christian story bring hope, practical steps toward wholeness, and a list of resources for further information. Study guides are available for several titles and can be downloaded.
