Groundswell, a project of Auburn Theological Seminary, is an online community that provides digital tools and training for people of faith to mobilize and advocate using social media and the resources of the web. Groundswell offers an online social action platform that enables congregations or other groups to circulate petitions to advocate around a particular issue, and provides consultation and support to raise awareness and encourage action. Groundswell has supported online advocacy campaigns promoting actions around economic justice, racial and religious diversity, the environment, and opposition to human trafficking. Groundswell also offers trainings that are specifically targeted to help leaders and congregations learn to be more effective in using online resources for advocacy and social justice.
