Founder of the Orange Conference, Reggie Joiner was asked to write this book to capture the impact a more holistic and organic approach to children’s and youth ministry might make. Christian education and Youth Ministry are ministries often segregated from family life and each other. This can result in family life where assumptions are made about what’s really happening in the lives of children and youth. And who is responsible. Of particular concern is that this traditional approach can lead to youth abandoning the faith when they leave home. The organic approached presented in this book attempts to bring family and congregation together. The congregation actually partners with the family to strengthen the way children and youth engage in faith practices and spiritual guidance. This highly readable book is primarily oriented to evangelical faith traditions, but the principles presented can work in any faith community. They can also be applied in smaller congregations.
