The African American Lectionary

web resource
The African American Pulpit, 2013. Accessed April 19, 2017.

This website is a key online resource for clergy that follow the lectionary. It is particularly formed for an African American audience. It is a collaborative project of The African American Pulpit and American Baptist College of Nashville. For clergy who are interested in providing a multicultural perspective to their sermon preparation and worship design, the website has many uses. The site includes a variety of resources about lectionary texts, as well as general worship and cultural resources. The sections for each Sunday include a whole feast of material, a full course meal of Bible commentary, illustrations, context setting, cultural observations and more. The Dialogue Corner section provides engaging articles about a variety of congregational and faith issues, not just worship. There is a highly functional search tool that allows the user to focus his or her search for material. Several checks back to the website reveal that it is updated continuously with new content for Sunday worship discovered with each visit.
